Privacy, in plain language
The short version first: parents own the account, children never hand us personal details, and the only child data we store is learning progress. The rest of this page walks through what that means.
Please note: this is a summary
This is a short summary in plain language, not the full legal policy. The full policy governs. We keep this summary accurate and modest on purpose, and we will update both as the product grows.
Parents own the account
Time for Spelling accounts belong to parents. Children play under a parent's account and never sign up on their own or provide personal information to register.
We collect what the app needs
To save progress, we store practice data: words attempted and mastered, accuracy, session time, and current level. That data powers your child's practice and your parent dashboard.
Why we collect it
Progress data exists so your child can continue where they left off, so difficulty can adapt, and so you can see what they have learned. We do not need more than that to run the app, so that is what we take.
Your dashboard, your call
The progress we store is the progress you can see in your parent view. Level settings and account controls sit behind your login, not your child's.
Questions about privacy can be sent to the Time for Spelling team, and we will answer them plainly.
